Netflix requires iPads to run on iOS 13 or later.
Devices such as the iPad 3, iPad mini 2, the original iPad Air, and older will not support the app. This will result in your device receiving the error message ‘Netflix is not compatible with this iPad’.
You need to update your software
If you have not gotten the chance to update the software on your device, you will need to update it to iOS 13 or later in order for Netflix to be able to run on your iPad. If you have an iPad that is not listed in the tip above, you should be able to download or update the required software.
You can do this by accessing your settings under the general app and updating the software from the About tab. Then you will need to select download and install to begin the download process. Be aware that this may take some time, and you may want to plug in your phone to charge while this is occurring.

How to Fix the Netflix Compatability Issue
If you have an older iPad, unfortunately, you will face issues when trying to access the Netflix app. Here are some other options you have to continue streaming your favorite movies, tv shows, etc.
Access Netflix from a browser
Instead of downloading the Netflix app, you can log into your Netflix account through a browser such as Safari or Chrome. To do this, select your browser of choice, search for Netflix and log into your account. Try streaming here and see if the same issue occurs. Note that the quality may not be the best, but it is a way around Netflix’s and apple’s compatibility issues that prevent older devices from accessing certain apps.
Use another Device
If you have access to an additional device, such as a cell phone or laptop, you can try and see if the app on those devices has compatibility issues. If they are older devices, it is most likely that the same issue will occur with those devices. For these devices, you can also access Netflix through safari, chrome, or firefox in order to watch your movies and videos.

Buy another device
If your older iPad is the only device you have, and you will be watching Netflix on a regular basis, it may be time to buy a new device. If watching from the browser does not work for your device, buying a new device would be a long-term solution to solving this issue. You do not need to buy the newest, most expensive device to be able to watch Netflix.
You can search for devices that are newer, in good condition, and are being sold at a fair price online such as on eBay or craigslist. Remember that this is not a must-do, and there is no reason to feel obligated to spend lots of money on a device to continue to watch your movies.
Borrow a friend’s
Netflix and movies are always better when enjoyed with someone else! Make it a regular date or hangout time to get together with friends and watch your favorite movies on their device.
